Jingle Bells in Jeannette
Need something to shake off winter’s chill? This clip of the St Marc Preschoolers Jingle Bells dance will warm your heart.
As you know, support from the Diocese of Wisconsin covers the lion’s share of wages for St. Marc School staff. But did you know your contributions also make it possible for us to provide significant funding for the school lunch program as well?
The daily canteen meal, for many years an essential component of the school’s service to the community of Jeannette, is even more important in these winter months, when families don’t have produce from gardens and fruit trees. This year, with the school also providing an education and food to many children whose families were forced to flee gangs in Port-au-Prince.
As you can well imagine, these children, like their parents, have endured a great deal of stress and difficulty. This year, Père Moise wanted to do something extra special for pre-schoolers who needed a bright spot in their lives. The Diocese of Wisconsin Haiti Partnership was pleased to be able, thanks to your generosity, to offer a small grant toward making their Christmas party an extra-special day for the entire community.
Once you’ve seen Jingle Bells as performed by these St. Marc preschoolers, you’ll never again hear the familiar old tune without thinking of them! May it warm your hearts as it did theirs and those of their parents!
Would you like to ensure the school lunch program at Jeannette continues throughout the year? Your donations to Haiti Partnership will help make it possible. Just go to the online giving portal, go to Haiti in the drop-down menu, and make a one time donation. Or better yet, set up a monthly contribution.
